History:
The Area had a tribal status till 1949. Land settlement in Batagram was carried out in 1966-67 and in Allai in 1976-77.It was upgraded to the status of District with effect from 1.7.1993.

• Upper parts of the Batagram & Allai Sub Divisions are moderate in summer and severe cold in winter receives heavy snow fall.
